Dear Miss Rui Dai

Thank you very much for your application to study at the Streatham Campus, Exeter.  We are delighted to confirm this formal offer of a place which has been reserved for you as follows:

PROGRAMME TITLE:   MSc Advanced Mathematics
START DATE:  03/Oct/2011
END DATE:  27/Sep/2012
*Please note that the start date given above is the official start date of your programme of study however all new students are invited to attend the 'Welcome Week' which runs from Sunday 25th September to Sunday 2nd October 2011.  Whilst this week is optional, we strongly advise you to attend this week which will include registration with your school and the University, module selection and a variety of sessions designed to help you settle in and prepare for your academic studies.
MODE OF STUDY:   Full Time
OUR OFFER:   This offer is conditional upon the following:
Graduation with at least 75% and receipt of formal confirmation of your award.
Since your first language is not English we need evidence of your proficiency in English to the University's required standard.  Details of these can be found on our website at http://www.exeter.ac.uk/postgraduate/admissions/applying/english/. Please submit your test result as soon as possible for assessment.
Receipt of a deposit payment as detailed in the enclosed 'Deposit Information for Postgraduate Offer Holders'.
Payment of this deposit will help to demonstrate your firm commitment to studying in the UK which will assist with your application for a visa.
Please send scanned or certified copies of transcripts and not the originals. However, in order to apply for a UK student visa and register at the start of your programme, you will need to produce your original certificates and transcripts.

You will be required to satisfy the conditions outlined above and pay the deposit before we can assign you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).  This will be issued to you three months before you can apply for your visa.
ANNUAL TUITION FEES:  You have been classified as International for fee purposes. Tuition fees for 2011/12 are £14500.00. Fees for subsequent years should be expected to rise.
LIVING COSTS
We recommend students should allow approximately £700 per month to cover living expenses although this may vary according to your needs.
ACCOMMODATION
In order to apply for University accommodation, if eligible, you must have firmly accepted your offer i.e. we must have received and cleared your deposit payment or received confirmation of sponsorship from a recognised sponsor and updated our system. The accommodation application deadline is 30 July 2011 so please ensure you send payment / scholarship letter in good time. Please note it can take at least 10 working days to clear a bank transfer so you may prefer to use our online payment system http://www.exeter.ac.uk/epay .  The University guarantees accommodation for the first year of study to new unaccompanied International fee paying students who apply by the deadline. Our Accommodation website at www.exeter.ac.uk/accommodation provides virtual tours of a representative selection of our accommodation and information on options and how to apply.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The University offers various scholarships for Postgraduate students; full details are available on our website www.exeter.ac.uk/scholarships

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
If you require a visa to study in the UK you will need to provide a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS number) in support of your Tier 4 visa application. The University generates this via the UK Border Agency Sponsor Management System, once your offer is unconditional and has been firmly accepted. As a visa application can only be made in the 3 months prior to your planned start date we anticipate sending you your CAS number from May. In order to apply for a UK student visa and register at the start of your programme, you will need to produce your original certificates and transcripts. You are advised to visit our dedicated website for International Students which provides more information about immigration, travel to Exeter, English Language requirements, visits to your country and much more, including our handbook 'Information for New International Students'. Please visit www.exeter.ac.uk/international/students
}
We very much look forward to welcoming you to the University of Exeter and please do not hesitate to contact the International Admissions Team if you have any queries.

Yours sincerely,

Applicants who receive an offer of a place on a full-time postgraduate taught or the part-time MA in Western Esotericism at the University are required to pay a tuition fee deposit in order to secure their offer and to apply for a place in University accommodation where eligible.   The amount of the deposit payable is £2000.
The deposit must be paid by 8th July 2011.
Payment is possible by the following methods:
a) Online at www.exeter.ac.uk/epay  (for credit card/ debit card payments)
b) By telephone on 01392 263890 (for credit card/ debit card payments)
c) By UK bank cheque or bank draft drawn on a UK bank payable to 'The University of Exeter' please write "Tuition Fee Deposit" and your Student ID Number on the reverse. If your cheque includes payment for other purposes this must be noted on the reverse along with the relevant amounts. (Failure to do so means we cannot reflect your payment accurately when assigning you a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS)).

It is essential to include your student reference number in the payment reference field and to notify the University that your transfer has been made.  Please e-mail the date of your payment, bank reference number and the payment amount and purpose, along with your Exeter Reference Number (see top of offer letter) to cashiers@exeter.ac.uk . The tuition fee deposit will be set against your tuition fee invoice in term 1 following registration.  The deposit is non-refundable except in the case of refusal of a student visa or failure to meet our academic or linguistic conditions by the relevant deadline see: http://www.exeter.ac.uk/postgraduate/admissions/offers/deposit/
Only those applicants who are sponsored by organisations approved by the University will be exempt from paying a deposit and in these circumstances will be asked to provide documentary evidence of the sponsorship.
UK visa regulations require applicants to demonstrate the ability to pay all costs incurred as a result of study overseas and payment of the deposit demonstrates commitment in this respect. Applicants from outside the EEA will therefore not be sent a Visa Letter until their deposit has been received and cleared and they have met any academic / non-academic conditions of their offer. Our visa letter will detail any cleared funds received by the University at the date of printing so applicants who wish to make a larger deposit against their tuition fees can do so at their own discretion. We recommend applicants commence their visa application 12 weeks prior to their anticipated arrival date so please bear this in mind if you want your visa letter to reflect other payments to the University.
